Some even reported that the dates of the CBSE practical exams were declared, which created panic among students and their families.
What Said Education Minister about CBSE Class 10 and 12 Board Exams 2021 dates
Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank on December 10 addressed the students and stated that adequate time for preparation would be given to them. The scheduled dates for the exams would be decided considering the pandemic situation and they would not clash with that of any entrance exam, he said during his address.
He also added that there were no compulsions to schedule the 2021 Board exams in March. Many parents had urged the Board to conduct the examinations in May 2021 instead of the usual month of March.
In his detailed statement during the 21st edition of the Shiksha Samvaad, the minister added that the CBSE had reduced the syllabus for the 2021 board exams by 30 per cent and the word ‘fail’ was removed from the mark-sheets.
The CBSE, in its statement, said that the board was aware of the concerns of the students and parents in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. It said that it would take any decision only after due consultation with all the stakeholders and communicate the same at an appropriate time officially.
The Press Information Bureau (PIB) on Twitter also rejected the claims made by different media platforms about the exam dates. As per the information previously given by the CBSE, the board exams in 2021 would take place in offline mode and the consultations on deciding the dates were still underway.
